The planning continues to take shape. We have narrowed down our itinerary in Africa to Tanzania. Planning to spend about 5 days on safari and another 4 or 5 days in Zanzibar. That will give us time with the African animals and some time with the Africans.
We are also a little concerned about the pace of our current plan. We have ourselves moving quite a lot in the first 60 days. It makes Suzanne & me tired just thinking it through. So, we will probably need to create some “opt out” portions of our agenda so we take some time to recover if we start to get too road weary.
Patrick and Alex just returned home after a week away at summer camp. It was the first time they have been away from home (and their mom) for more than a day or two. They loved it! We are very encouraged at their apparent confidence and ability to make new friends. Kids and councilors were there from all over the world (England, China, Scotland, France, etc) and our kids didn’t have any problems making new friends.
I continue to think about the technology options we have. I just bought my first unlocked cell phone and SIM card so I can start learning the ins & outs of telecommunications that don’t involve multi-year contracts with AT&T or Verizon. Next on the research agenda is a tablet computer.
